GEN 1.2 ENTRY, TRANSIT AND DEPARTURE OF AIRCRAFT

 

1.2.1 General

1.2.1.1. KOSOVO Airspace is under the control of the CAOCTJ. Kosovo Air Navigation Services Agency provides Air Navigation Services from GND up to 205 FL, using in/out corridors XAXAN and SARAX for all commercial air traffic. Air Navigation Services above 205 FL up to 660 FL are temporarily being provided by HungaroControl in accordance with the “Implementing Agreement between the Government of Hungary and International Security Force in Kosovo (KFOR)”. 1.2.1.2. Aircraft flying into or departing from Kosovo shall make their first landing at, or final departure from, Pristina International Airport (see AIP Kosovo, AD 1.3 and AD 2).

1.2.2 Scheduled flights

International scheduled flights to/from Kosovo shall be carried out in accordance with the Air Services Agreement concluded between the Republic of Kosovo and the State of origin of air carrier concerned.

ECAA airlines may operate air services between Republic of Kosovo and ECAA Member States in accordance with Article 4/1 i), Protocol IX of the Multilateral Agreement. Flights by ECAA airline within ECAA are not subject to flight approvals,but the air carrier should notify in writing Kosovo CAA for its intent to operate scheduled flights to/from Kosovo through the following email address: [email protected].

Other foreign air carriers shall hold an Approval to exercise traffic rights on routes to Republic of Kosovo. The approval shall take into consideration the conditions laid down in the bilateral agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the said State.

The authorization for the approval of scheduled service to /from Kosovo rests with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Kosovo.

Air carrier planning to operate to and from Kosovo shall send their request to Civil Aviation Authority of Kosovo:

1.2.3 Non-scheduled flights

International non-scheduled flights to/from Kosovo are subject to Approval to be issued by Kosovo Civil Aviation Authority.

Air carriers planning to operate non-scheduled flights to and from Kosovo shall send their request to Civil Aviation Authority of Kosovo by email: flight. [email protected] at least 3 business days before the date of the first proposed flight.

Same applies for air taxi.

1.2.5 Public health measures applied to aircraft

The pilot in command must on arrival at Pristina International Airport ,see to that a copy of the Health Section of the General Declaration is handed over to the Customs Authorities. This does not apply in the case of aircraft engaged in scheduled flights,with the following exceptions:

- Aircraft arriving from or having made intermediate stops in States which are not members of the World Health Organization.

- Aircraft arriving from or having made intermediate stops in areas which the Ministry of Health has declared infected.

Before landing the pilot in command of a scheduled flight shall notify the appropriate Air Traffic Control Services, of any such sickness on board the aircraft as could lead to the spreading of a disease.

In such cases passengers and crews are not allowed to leave the aircraft without a permission from the National Health Authorities.
