ASHNA officials participate in the ” Assessment of Functional System Changes” training

Officials from ASHNA, namely the Deputy Director for Operational Services – Mr. Valmir Hylenaj, the Manager of the Meteorological Department – Mr. Sherif Gosalci and the Head of the Air Traffic Tower Division – Mr. Arben Bytyqi, participated in the one-week training course for “Assessment of Functional System Changes” at the Institute for Air Navigation Services (IANS) – Eurocontrol in Luxembourg. It was the first time that ASHNA participated with “Implementation of AWOS (Airport Weather Observation System) in the official trainings of this Institute, which was one of the four examples prepared in relation to the implementation of the Functional System Change Assessment process , as a result of the implementation of the requirements from regulation 373/2017, also applicable in Kosovo. The presence of ASHNA – officially in IANS – Eurocontrol through the case study with one of the runway extension projects, is of particular importance due to the very fact that Kosovo is not yet part of Eurocontrol and that the practical example of the implementation of the The inspection at ASHNA – DMET will be part of the training package at the European sister agencies as a mandatory requirement from regulation 373/20217.
